Greg Hager
Country & Western Muscian
I have been playing guitar and writing music since I was 7 years old. In fact the first song that I wrote was about my favorite show at the time..."The Dukes of Hazzard." Oh, how the times have changed! Since that time, so many new songs have been written. Growing up on a grain and dairy farm near Valley City, ND is one of the experiences that I cherish the most about my life. Times seemed more simple then, and the hundreds of acres that I had available around our farmstead was the greatest playground that any boy could ask for. However, like all childhood experiences, they now exist only in my memories, photographs, and daydreams. I have discovered through observation and experience that almost all people want the same things. It seems that there exists for most people the life they live and the life they wish they lived. And, unfortunately, the two are almost always separated. In many ways my life and my experiences are the same as yours. And so, the songs I write and sing are really your songs. The raw emotions of tragedy, happiness, and success are cleverly captured. I sing the stories of the people around me. I sing about the times that were and the times that are yet to come. I guess you could say that my songs are about “love, life, and living.” I have been influenced by great story-tellers like John Denver, Roger Whittaker, Gordon Lightfoot, and many others. I describe my style along the lines of what Country and Western music used to be before all of the Pop influences. Easy-going, melodic, and clever. .
Come see Greg Hager wonderful show Friday at 3:15 pm & 5:15pm.
Sean Emery
Prop comic & juggler comic
Sean Emery is electric. Constantly emerging as an artist after over 20 years in show business, he deftly takes a familiar shtick and transforms it into something turbocharged and refreshingly wonderful. A true original, Sean Emery's performances showcase his sparkling wit and broad antics such as when the rubbery-faced comedian peels himself off the floor after a face-flat fall from a unicycle. No one works a crowd like Sean. His infectious personality will infuse your event with laughter a nd bring smiles to all ages. He is a top fair & festival performer, performing in more fair & festivals than nearly any performer in the region.
Come see Sean Emery's remarkable acts Friday at 7:00 pm.
Bill Isles
Song Writer/Singer
Bill Isles (Duluth, MN) returned to performing after a twenty-five year hiatus in February of 2000. Since that time, he has become one of the most highly-respected singer/songwriters in the Minnesota acoustic scene and has begun to get national and international attention.
His songs are down-to-earth poetic reflections of life experiences and often explore adventurous metaphorical worlds. These worlds vary greatly in scope and texture such as the differences between the clever honky-tonk ambiguity of "The Hole in Our Town" and the enchanting feel of "Sistine Chapel", both from his 2003 release "The Threshold". Each of his compositions provides a spectrum of interpretation opportunities, as well, as demonstrated by "Sistine Chapel". At first, you might conclude that the song is a first-person account of Michelangelo's first visit to scope out the project at the Sistine Chapel, but you start to realize that, perhaps, this is also an artist's perception of entering the “chapel” of his/her audience. Then, again, it also hints at the intimate interaction of lovers. It is this multi-layering that has drawn fans to listen over and over again, and to describe his live performances as "mesmerizing".
Come see Bill Isles shows Saturday at 2:30 pm and 6:00 pm.
